Security & data hardening

Supabase & Neon Auth, Row-Level Security, and API Hardening

Many fast prototypes work in development only because database tables are wide open or every query runs with an unrestricted key. Production apps need strict per-user and per-tenant authorization.

The short answer

Teams preparing to launch a Supabase or Neon-backed web app that handles customer records, portals, or payments. Starting project price: $997. Static marketing websites that do not store user accounts or private customer records. Final scope and price are confirmed before work begins.

Scope before sales

Know what you are buying.

Teams launching a Supabase or Neon application that needs verified Row-Level Security (RLS), role permissions, and server-side input validation.

Not a fit: Public read-only websites with no user logins, private customer data, or write mutations.

What does this first release include?
A security and data-boundary hardening sprint covering database access policies, authenticated session handling, and server-validated write paths for one application. Deliverables: Table-by-table RLS and access-control audit; Explicit SQL security policies or server-scoped queries; Role-based route protection and session cookie hardening; Verification test suite proving tenant and user isolation.
When should we use existing software instead?
Use a managed off-the-shelf portal or SaaS tool if your team does not want ongoing ownership of a custom database and authentication stack.
What determines the project price?
Starting project price: $997. Number of database tables and storage buckets, multi-tenant organization hierarchy, custom webhook handlers, and audit logging. Final scope and price must be approved before implementation.
What data and permissions are required?
Requires admin access to the staging database/Supabase project, a clear definition of every user role, and agreement on which records each role may read or mutate.
What can this service not promise?
Database hardening secures application data boundaries; it is not a formal SOC 2, HIPAA, or legal compliance certification.
Who owns the site and maintains it?
Confirm source-code and design rights, third-party licenses, repository access, credentials, deployment, and handoff in the agreement. Use business-owned domain and vendor accounts where possible. Hosting, domains, paid tools, content changes, and ongoing support are separate responsibilities and recurring costs; no unlimited maintenance is implied.

Replacing an existing site or workflow?

Inventory current URLs, content rights, form destinations, vendor access, and data export options before choosing a redesign or migration. Agree the redirects, backup, validation, launch, and rollback plan first. No third-party platform support or data transfer is assumed until its access and export capabilities are reviewed.

Why prototype databases fail security reviews

When an AI builder wires a frontend directly to Supabase or Postgres without Row-Level Security policies or server-side session checks, any visitor who opens browser devtools can read or mutate another customer's records.

We audit every table, write explicit RLS policies or server-scoped Drizzle queries, and verify that anonymous, authenticated, and admin roles can only access authorized rows.

Harden one workflow or the full data layer

Whether you are launching a client portal, booking tool, or multi-tenant SaaS, we align your authentication flow, cookie settings, and database policies with your real business rules.

Frequently asked

Before you start

Direct answers to help you choose the right next version.

Can you audit and fix Row-Level Security on an existing Supabase project?

Yes. We review every exposed table, storage bucket, and edge function, then write and test explicit policies for each user role.

Do you also work with Neon and Better Auth?

Yes. For Neon Postgres apps, we implement Better Auth session management and enforce per-query userId or tenantId scoping on the server.
