Scope before sales
Know what you are buying.
Operators and founders building a durable product that requires user accounts, persistent database records, role permissions, and connected workflows.
Not a fit: Unvalidated ideas that have not yet defined their core user journey, data ownership, or first-release boundary.
- What does this first release include?
- A production full-stack foundation scoped around the essential first-release user journeys, relational data model, server-side authorization, and deployment pipeline. Deliverables: Technical architecture and relational schema design; Authenticated user and admin journeys with role checks; Server-validated mutations and essential API integrations; Production deployment, environment documentation, and handoff.
- When should we use existing software instead?
- Start with a $997 Custom Web App if you can prove the core value with a single workflow before adding user accounts and multi-role permissions.
- What determines the project price?
- Starting project price: $1,997. Role and permission matrix, number of database entities, payment or billing flows, third-party syncs, and data migration. Final scope and price must be approved before implementation.
- What data and permissions are required?
- Requires confirmed user roles, data model approval, business-owned cloud/database accounts, and timely review of milestone builds.
- What can this service not promise?
- The $1,997 starting price scopes a disciplined version-one product foundation; enterprise compliance certifications, native mobile apps, and 24/7 SLA retainers are not implied.
- Who owns the site and maintains it?
- Confirm source-code and design rights, third-party licenses, repository access, credentials, deployment, and handoff in the agreement. Use business-owned domain and vendor accounts where possible. Hosting, domains, paid tools, content changes, and ongoing support are separate responsibilities and recurring costs; no unlimited maintenance is implied.
Replacing an existing site or workflow?
Inventory current URLs, content rights, form destinations, vendor access, and data export options before choosing a redesign or migration. Agree the redirects, backup, validation, launch, and rollback plan first. No third-party platform support or data transfer is assumed until its access and export capabilities are reviewed.
